Welcome! This site contains information about the Tasmanian Cricket Umpires
and Scorers Association (TCUSA) and many aspects of umpiring and scoring.
OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES
The Tasmanian Cricket Association (TCA) is
responsible for developing and promoting While the opportunities are there to officiate at high levels for those dedicated enough to obtain the appropriate skills, like the players the majority of TCUSA umpire and scorer members spend their careers supporting matches in the TCA’s Grade (or Club) Cricket Competition in Hobart. There also also opportunities for those who live in the Launceston or Devonport areas to stand in matches played in the Northern Tasmania Cricket Association (NTCA) competition, and the North West Tasmania Cricket Association (NWTCA) respectively. The provision of quality umpires and scorers for Club cricket is fundamental to the Association’s goals. You can be assured that no matter what level you officiate at, the decision-making, game management, and other tasks involved will always present you with a real, interesting and enjoyable challenge either out there ‘in the middle’ or in the score box!
